Well its time to get ready for my second run at the Huracan 300 coming up in February. I was turned onto this event last year and had a blast with 5 local riding buddies, 3 of us new to bike-packing. Its 8-12 hrs a day covering a total of 386 miles with asphalt, sand, single track and a swap of sadness. Horrible fun is what I called it at the end.
Fast forward to this past weekend here in the southeast. The colors are holding on as long as possible and it made for a spectacular riding day in the Georgia mountains. Paul, Kevin and I are all gearing up for the 2020 Huracan and set out for a 4-6 hour training ride. We didn't cover a lot of miles but but DAMN was it beautiful out. These are those special days that we all love to grab and spend a day in the saddle. Winter is the time to throw down the long base mile rides and this is just one of many to get us prepared for our long days in Florida.
